SWEET NOWHERE

Curator of the project, Alenka Gregorič and artists Lada Cerar, Vuk Ćosić & Matej Andraž Vogrinčič, Vadim Fiškin, Dejan Habicht, Tanja Lažetić, Polonca Lovšin, Tadej Pogačar & P.A.R.A.S.I.T.E. muzej sodobne umetnosti, Marjetica Potrč, Marija Mojca Pungerčar, radioCona (Irena Pivka, Brane Zorman), Kud Obrat (Stefan Doepner, Urška Jurman, Polonca Lovšin, Apolonija Šušteršič), Sašo Sedlaček, Matej Andraž Vogrinčič have focused on the production which deal with the city of Ljubljana from different points of view (architectural, social ...) and in different media (photography, music, video, film ...)

The basic proposition of the exhibition Sweet Nowhere stems from reflection on an institution being expected to tailor its program to presenting primarily local artists, regardless of their medium of expression. Presenting artworks, projects, actions, and critical discourse that have Ljubljana as their common denominator shifts the perspective in favor of the institution’s fundamental mission: fostering the contemplation and presentation of works focusing on Ljubljana. The exhibition thus presents works done over the last ten years which have been shown in a variety of contexts, art and non-art spaces, solo and group exhibitions, at home and abroad. The artworks selected reflect critical thought on the city, present certain questions, doubts, and criticisms, or recount (most often) humorously intimate stories shaped by living in the city.
